Cabopino, Marbella
Our Studio Apartment….
We are very lucky to own a little gem of a studio in the port of Cabopino, near Marbella. We bought the studio in a rather run down state, but after sprinkling a little developing magic we turned it into the fantastic space that it is today. Boasting a wonderful location directly overlooking the harbour at Cabopino, the complex has direct access to the beach, one of the best on the coast.
Having visited numerous 5* hotels in the past, we’ve taken inspiration and created a luxury self catering experience of our own! Including luxury bedding, wonderful feather pillows, fluffy towels, and little extras such as a Nespresso coffee machine, BOSE docking station and fibre optic broadband, it’s a great little escape from the pressures of everyday life.
Cabopino itself is a wonderful little resort built around a picturesque little harbour, with a selection of restaurants and a couple of minimarkets. Its location is perfect, being only 35 minutes from Malaga Airport and about 10 minutes to Marbella by taxi. The new Mijas seafront boardwalk starts at Cabopino, and you can literally walk all the way to the resort of La Cala, a walk of approximately 6km. There are numerous local chiringuitos (small beach restaurants) on the way which offer the local speciality ‘Espetos’, grilled fresh sardines cooked on the open flame, absolutely delicious, and of course washed down with the obligatory San Miguel beer or Sangria!
The main beach itself in Cabopino is a good sized cove with gently shelving waters, perfect for families, featuring sunbeds, umbrellas, a couple of great beach restaurants, and some non-motorised watersports. There are further beaches either side of the resort, one that runs all the way to La Cala in Mijas Costa, and the other towards Marbella. This stretch of sand features a naturist section if you feel like going au naturel!
There are no end of excursions or days out you can do as Cabopino is so well situated on the coast. Marbella, Puerto Banus, Mijas, Fuengirola, Gibraltar, the whitewashed villages of Mijas & Ronda, and the Alhambra Palace in Granada are all within striking distance. The Costa Del Sol coastline features a myriad of attractions, including water parks, zoological parks, beach clubs, boat trips and more. If you fancy a day off from sunning yourself on the fabulous beaches then you will be spoilt for choice of where to go. There are amazing shopping opportunities to, from the boutiques in the small streets of Fuengirola, to the El Corte Ingles luxury department store in Puerto Banus, plus the shopping centres of Miramar and La Canada, you really are spoilt for choice.
Restaurants abound in the area, and you can eat as cheaply or as expensively as you like. We will be loading up our favourites shortly on the ‘Marbs’ tab on our blog, so keep an eye out for these. From the small local beach restaurants, to 5* dining at the Puento Romano hotel including the Michelin starred Dani Garcia restaurant, Nobu, and the Thai Gallery, there really is something for everyone.
We’ve put the link to the studio below so you can see further details of it. It really is a great little escape, and there are daily flights to Malaga from numerous UK airports. The studio sleeps 4, including a king size bed and a sofa bed in an open plan arrangement. For golfers there is a course at Cabopino, and plenty more within close proximity. If you like what you see and fancy a trip out to the studio, then please contact Mark and Mia at Rose Estates who will be glad to help you with a booking.
Who knows we may see you soon in sunny Spain…

Climate : Hot & sunny in the summer months (May to October) and mild in the winter. In our experience it gets up into the 30’s in the summer and never really drops below about 18c in the winter during the day. It’s the best climate in mainland Europe, and very similar to California in the States. We love it!
