The Cliff Restaurant, Barbados

Well what can we say apart from STUNNING! We’ve just been privileged to enjoy a wonderful evening at The Cliff restaurant, and we can understand fully why it is frequented by the rich & famous. Stunning views, a wonderful atmosphere, beautiful attention to detail, and of course delectable food, make this a must for the more discerning diner visiting Barbados.
The restaurant was pretty busy on the day we decided to visit, and we were lucky to be offered a table, especially as it was a same day booking. After a gracious welcome, we were taken to the top level of the venue and were seated in comfortable leather and cow hide seats where we enjoyed an aperitif. The views out over the illuminated Caribbean were amazing, and the real fire torches burning away added a certain warmth to the sumptuous surroundings, even though it was a balmy evening! The restaurant has such a rich depth to it, very luxurious and welcoming.
We were then guided downstairs for the main event, and the main dining area was serene and beautiful. Candlelit tables adorned the deck overlooking the Caribbean and the gentle sound of the waves rolling up the white sands was magical. We were seated just above the deck, which was lovely, as we had a fantastic view over the restaurant to the sea beyond. The service we received was first class, friendly & efficient, not surprising though for a restaurant of this standard. We opted for Snow Crab fishcake for starters, and our friend ordered Confit of duck, all amazing (see pics). For mains Thai Green Curry Prawns, and our friend ordered Salmon. The presentation was first class and the taste delicious. No complaints at all.
Yes this restaurant is rather expensive, but it is one of the finest on Barbados, and we all agree we had a most wonderful evening, and it was money well spent. If you are in Barbados and are looking for something a little special for a celebration or just to treat yourself, then this is an excellent choice. Very romantic. I think you’ll agree the photographs tell the story, it really is an amazing place.
