CruisePort Visit – Terre de Haut, Ile des Saintes, Guadeloupe
Date of visit : November 2019
Ship : Seabourn Odyssey

Our ship called in today at a wonderful little French gem, Terre-de-Haut, an island in the Ile Des Saintes group, part of the Archipelago of Guadeloupe. This lovely peaceful little place of boutique shops, pretty vistas, and eco credentials, is a place where the big ships never visit, and is usually only frequented by the smaller luxury style vessels and private yachts.

After tendering ashore, we pottered about the small French shops, stopped for a drink in the Café de la Marine with its stunning views across the harbour, and visited the adorable little church. Our friends enjoyed their last visit here hiring a golf buggy, but this time we were a bit too late and missed the last one! Still we had a wonderful day just appreciating the lovely views, enjoying the French way of life, and ambling around the small town. We never made it to the beach, but people we spoke to back on the ship told us there were some lovely swimming spots, we can save that for next time…
